Questions About Veterinary Care on 30A
Answers about our Santa Rosa Beach and Seacrest clinics, appointments, services, and after-hours care.
Locations, hours, and appointments
Which Kindness location should I use?
Use the Santa Rosa Beach (West 30A) clinic if you are coming from Sandestin, Destin, Miramar Beach, Dune Allen, Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, or Freeport. Use the Seacrest (East 30A) clinic if you are coming from Seaside, Seagrove, Watercolor, Rosemary Beach, Inlet Beach, or Panama City Beach.
Is there parking at both clinics?
Yes. Both locations have convenient parking. The Seacrest clinic has specific parking notes on the East 30A location page.
Can I request a specific doctor?
Yes. You can request Dr. Mary Connor, Dr. Kristyn Carr, or Dr. Payton McCaleb when you book. Availability depends on the day’s schedule.
Do you see walk-ins?
We strongly recommend appointments so we can give each pet enough time. Call the clinic if you have an urgent same-day need.
How far in advance should I book a wellness or dental appointment?
Wellness and dental visits book out, especially in peak 30A season. Call as soon as you know your dates if you are a visitor.
New pet parents and first visit
What should I bring to my pet’s first visit?
Bring any prior medical records, vaccination history, current medications, and a list of questions. If records are with another clinic, we can help request them.
Do you see pets that are only here on vacation?
Yes. We regularly care for visiting pets along 30A and can often work in short-notice wellness or sick visits when schedule allows.
Do I need to transfer records before my first appointment?
It helps, but it is not required. Bring what you have and we will build the chart from there.

Emergencies, after hours, and Florida-specific care
Is Kindness Pet Hospital an emergency hospital?
No. We are a full-service daytime hospital, Monday–Friday 8:30–5:00. After-hours and weekend emergencies should go to an emergency clinic.
Where is the closest emergency vet to 30A?
Common options we list are The Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Niceville and the Veterinary Referral Emergency Center in Pensacola. Call ahead when possible.
Do pets on 30A need year-round heartworm and flea prevention?
Yes. Northwest Florida is a year-round risk area for heartworms, fleas, and ticks. We recommend prevention every month.
Should my dog get a canine influenza vaccine before boarding or a dog show?
If your dog boards, goes to daycare, or attends events, ask us whether the H3N2 canine influenza vaccine is appropriate. A two-dose series is typically needed before high-risk exposure.
Do you help with hurricane or disaster prep for pets?
We recommend having records, medications, crates, and a go-bag ready. Our Pet Resources page links to AVMA and other disaster-prep guides.
What we do not offer
Does Kindness Pet Hospital offer boarding or grooming?
We do not board or groom in-house. We refer local partners such as Emerald Coast Kennels and area groomers listed on our Pet Resources page.
Are you open on weekends?
No. Both clinics are closed Saturday and Sunday.
